                     RAM LAL ANAND COLLEGE was founded by SHRI  RAM LAL ANAND, an eminent lawyer of the supreme court in the year 1964. Initially, the college functioned in DEFENCE COLONY and GREEN PARK before moving to its current location at BENITO JUAREZ ROAD, opposite ANAND NIKETAN. In 1973, the college was taken over by UNIVERSITY OF DELHI and it now functions as a DELHI UNIVERSITY maintained institution. It is a multi-faculty, co-educational college, having at present approximately 3000 students on its rolls in various courses.
                      
                    RLA college is situated in the neighbourhood of the South Campus and Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF). It has a vast campus spread over 10 acres of uninterrupted green lawns divided into multidimensional vertical and horizontal space, reflecting its multi-disiciplinary character.
 There are a sufficient no. of classrooms, an auditorium, seminar rooms and laboratories for students. The college has a staff council, which decides the process of admission, makes recommendations for new teaching posts, stipulates the guidelines for maintaining discipline, and a oversees the extra-curricular activities. The Lecture Rooms are equipped with state-of-the art multimedia facilities like OHPs, Videos, Televisions and LCS.
                    RLA boasts of impressive laboratories equipped with the latest software and hardware. The laboratories are networked with Windows 2000 server. PDC and BDC servers, ensuring better response time.The Institute has a well-stocked library with books and magazines, covering all aspects of Management and Information Technology. The library subscribes to a number of international & national journals to keeps students abreast of the recent events in India and around the world. The campus canteen offers nutritious meals and snacks in a hygienic and student-friendly environment. Badminton and Table-Tennis courts are a part of the massive infrastructural facilities RLA offers. 
The common room is equipped with audio-visual aids and is the focal centre for students to interact and exchange views on the global business and I.T. Environment.

  From its inception the college has maintained a co-educational character, with only a little less than half of the studentsa being women. To further strength this intiative, a Women’s Welfare Advisory  Board stands constituted, headed by senior lady member of teaching staff. It provides counselling to the women-students with respect to their day-to-day problems, while encouraging them to realise the full potential of their personality.
                            An organically structured body of administration ensures that the affairs of college are managed with ease and economy, making an optimum use of quality time. The threecentres of function and management-General Affairs, Accounts and Library- are headed by the Administrative Officer, who in turn reports to the Principal. Every wing is suitably diversified and functions both as a self- contained system and a connected body organ.
